B. Registration: Registering and Matrimonial Profile Creation.

  • Please explain some of the fields and terms used while registration?
    1. Email ID - This should be your most active email id that you would be using to login to Community Rishtaa.com. All matched profiles, suggested members and site communication will be sent to the email ID provided by you. If you do not have an email ID, create one and then you should be able to register with us. In case you are creating a profile for your son / daughter and you do not have an email ID you can ask them to provide their email ID.
    2. Created for - The "Created for" drop-down menu allows identifying the person who has created the profile and your relationship with the person whose profile has been created.
    3. About Me - This is the last option at the second stage of registration. Take advantage and use this feature to describe yourself as much as you want. Write your strengths and things that make you happy, things you like and how you enjoy spending your leisure time. You might finish up with what you think about love and its importance in life.
    4. Gotra/Gothram - A Gotra is a classification and identification of castes in India. It indicates lineage systems, either patrilineal or matrilineal, in the Hindu community. Gotra is used as surname in many castes. Each of the gotras is normally named after a great ancient Rishi, and belonging to a particular gotra generally implies patrilineal descension from the rishi, whom the gotra is named after. In South India, Tulu and Malayalee communities have their own lineage system that is matrilineal. The Tulu lineage system is called bari or bali and Malayalee lineage system is called illam.
    5. Ancestral Origin - This section allows you to add the information about origin of your ancestors and your native place.
    6. Special Cases - 'Special Cases' is a category created to refer to members who are physically or mentally challenged by birth or due to accident, or have physical abnormalities affecting looks and bodily functions.
      The 'Special Cases' option also includes HIV positive members.
    7. Manglik - Manglik is a criteria determined by the position of stars at the time of your birth. It is generally calculated using the date of birth, time of birth and the Janam Patri (Horoscope). Manglik generally implies that there are some negative forces of matrimony that influence your life. In the case of Hindu weddings, it is preferred if a Manglik boy enters into a matrimonial alliance with a Manglik girl and vice versa, the theory being that 2 negatives make a positive. The Manglik option is important to only those people who are particular about horoscopes.

  • What is a Profile ID? Is it important?
    This is auto- generated unique Id. This unique Id is for every individual who registers on Community Rishtaa.com. It is important and helpful because a user can see your profile details by inputting the profile ID in the given profile ID box whenever he/she wishes to search for your profile.
  • While registering, I got an error message that says that my email address is already registered with Community Rishtaa.com and that I must specify another email address. Why does this happen?

    That message signifies that you are already registered with the same email id which you are trying to input and you cannot register with the same id again. In the same message you can see an option of Forgot password. By clicking on forgot password, you can change the password for your email id.

    Or you can create a profile with a new email id.

    And, in case you are trying to register on behalf of either your son or your daughter, then you have to create profiles with two separate email Ids.
  • What is partner profile?
    Partner profile essentially includes details that you would desire in your preferred partner. This gives us better understanding of your ideal partner and we suggest better matches based on your preference. Also, other members understand that what kind of partner you are looking for.
  • I can't find the information I need. How can I get that?

C. Photo Upload

  • Where can I upload my photograph?
    You have the option of uploading your photograph on My Profile Page. You can upload maximum of 15 photographs categorized in three albums with 5 photos in each album:
    1. Through the lens: About me- This album is provided to showcase photos that speak your personality. It is also suggested to add photos only of you in this album
    2. Through the lens: My family - This album is provided to showcase little more than yourself and allow prospects to understand your family too.
    3. Through the lens: My life- This album gives you all the liberty to add photos of the most fun moments you've had. You can add photos of friends, holidays, hangouts and likewise.
    There is an option to add photos to your Community Rishtaa profile from your facebook network as well.
    You can further choose to make the photograph visible or hidden or protected. However, having a photograph uploaded would enhance your profile further.
  • Why should I attach my photograph to my Community Rishtaa profile?
    A picture is worth a thousand words and makes your profile truly come alive!! Our statistics have clearly revealed that adding photographs to your matrimonial profile not only increase the number of times your profile is viewed but also multiplies the level of responses to your profile. And in addition, it enables you to get featured in Photo Searches.
  • Does the Photo Upload feature grant me any flexibility?
    Yes, you can upload up to 15 photographs and create your own personalized photo albums, namely; Through the lens: About me, Through the lens: My family and Through the lens: My life. However do make sure that your face is clearly visible in your default photo. You can choose any one as your default photo at a time and can keep on interchanging /deleting or adding new photographs. Moreover, this feature empowers you with complete privacy controls, facilitating you to show your photograph only to the people you are interested in and hide it at any time you wish to.
  • Are there any DOs & Don'ts I need to take care of while uploading my photograph?
    1. The image file should be in JPG, GIF or PNG Format
    2. Size of each photograph must not exceed 4 MB
    3. The ideal width & height is more than 260(W) x 360(H) pixels or 3.5(W) x 5(H) inches or 9(W) x 13(H) cm
    4. Moreover, your chosen photograph(s) must be in accordance with the socially acceptable standards. Community Rishtaa.com reserves the right to remove/delete any photograph that violates socially accepted norms of decency and/or contains any form of nudity.
    5. Also, do not post caricatures or copyrighted images.
  • How do I add photographs to my profile?
    There are 3 ways in which you can post a photograph.
    1. UPLOAD THE PICTURE FROM YOUR COMPUTER YOURSELF
      1. Log-in with your Community Rishtaa ID
      2. Click on "My Profile"
      3. Click on "Upload Photo"
      4. Click on the "Browse" button, select a photograph you want to upload from your computer and click on "Upload". You can upload up to 5 photographs in each of the three albums and choose any one as your default photo. Also, you can choose any of the privacy options provided at this stage.
    2. Through facebook:
      At the third stage of registration, you have an option to import photos from your facebook network. With just one click, you can add photos from your facebook profile.
      1. Click on "Import your photos"
      2. Enter your facebook login details
      3. Choose any of your facebook album
      4. Choose any particular photo from that album
      5. Choose one of the three albums from the dropdown shown under every photo
      6. Click "continue" and your photo is added from facebook network
    3. By EMAIL:
      Attach the files with your photo(s) and mail them across to Community Rishtaaphotos@timesgroup.com. Remember to write in your Name, Login ID along with Profile ID and Password. We will upload it within 48 hours and inform you thereafter.
    4. BY SNAILMAIL:
      If you do not have a digital photo of yourself, then read the instructions about how to add a non-digital photograph and send us your photograph at the address given there.

  • I have a normal, non - digital photograph of myself. Can I still add it to my profile on Community Rishtaa.com?
    Yes, Community Rishtaa.com provides a FREE scanning and image digitizing service to all its members. If you do not have a soft copy then do send us your photograph at the address given below. We will be more than happy to scan, enhance, optimize and upload and attach it to your profile.

    Please put your photograph in a non-crushable envelope with your Community Rishtaa.com Log-in ID, Profile ID, Name, email ID and signature written behind the photograph.

  • Is it safe to post my photo along with my profile?
    Yes, it is absolutely safe to add a photograph to your profile as we have ensured that the privacy controls remain in your command. All your posted photographs are coded and tamperproof. Moreover, you have the facility to display your photo only to members you are interested in. Finally, you can change your photo display settings whenever you want to.

D. Login and Password

  • How do I login and logout from Community Rishtaa.com?
    The Login and Logout options are found at the very top of the Community Rishtaa.com website. Please note that you can now log in using only your email Id which you have submitted to us while registering with Community Rishtaa.com
    1. Login procedure: Simply click "Login". Enter your Email id and password and login to your Community Rishtaa account.
    2. Logout procedure: By clicking on the profile image, you can opt to logout from your Community Rishtaa account.
      There are stages of logging out.
      1. Partial logout- Here you have the option to go back to your prospective matches once again and search for your match.
      2. Logout- And if you really wish to leave the site for the time being, then choose to logout completely.
  • Can I be permanently logged into my account to avoid logging in every time I visit Community Rishtaa.com?
    Yes, you can be logged into your account permanently. While logging into your account, select the checkbox option "Keep me signed in" unless I logout, that can be seen below the password box. When you select this option and login, you can be always logged into your Community Rishtaa.com. You need not login the next time you visit Community Rishtaa.com. To logout, just click your name or photo found at the very top right corner of the website.
  • Is it safe to be permanently logged into the Community Rishtaa.com?
    If you share your computer with other persons, then your Community Rishtaa.com information will be vulnerable to tampering. In any case, as a safety precaution, if you do not use Community Rishtaa.com for 30 minutes, you will be asked to login. This will be so even if you have chosen the permanent login feature.

    Click on the "Forgot Password" link on the login page and enter your "Email address". Your "Matrimony ID" and "Password" will be mailed to you immediately. Your Email address should be the one given in your profile. Also please make sure to reset your password as per your choice and for future reference after we send you the new password in mail.

  • How can I search for my partner on Community Rishtaa.com? What are the search options available?
    The search on Community Rishtaa.com has been designed in a user-friendly way so that it is always effective and yields the results that you are looking for. You can simply login to Community Rishtaa.com and click on "search" to opt for type and go ahead finding your match.
  • What are the types of search options available?
    1. Quick Search - This enables you to search fast using parameters like marital status, age, height, religion, community, caste, location etc.
    2. Advanced Search - The search has been made on several more parameters like education, occupation, annual income, manglik status, body type, and so on.
  • Please explain "Recommended Search".
    Recommended search is the search based on behaviour of members on Community Rishtaa.com. In this search, activities of similar profiles are mapped. And matches are recommended to you by examining the contacts made by users similar to your profile.
  • Please explain "My Saved Searches".
    This section is relevant for not just match seeker but for the relatives too. It highlights the parameters of search. By clicking on "Run", search shows results based on the preference criteria selected by the person for profiles. By clicking on "save search" you can also name your search and refer to it anytime.
  • What are my Last 3 Searches?
    "Last 3 searches" shows your recent activity related to match search. It also gives you the date and time of your last search activity.
  • In what order partner search results are displayed?
    The search results are displayed based on the activity rate of match seeker and also suitable profiles. More active profiles are displayed first in the search result page.
    1. Send Message - You can enter your email Id and send your message.
    2. Shortlist - - After selecting a few profiles, when you click on this link, the selected profiles would be saved in the Shortlisted Profiles section. But remember, you should be logged in for using the service.
  • In the search results I can see some small icons next to some of the Profile ids. What do those icons mean?
    If you are a free member, you will see two icons:
    1. Mobile icon: denotes your mobile verified
    And if you are a paid member, you will see one more icon of a crown. It signifies that you are paid member.
  • What is Profile ID search?
    This is auto- generated unique Id. A user can see your profile details by inputting the profile ID in the given profile ID box. This unique Id is for every individual person who registers on Community Rishtaa.com; to search with the unique profile Id.

F. Messaging Centre

  • What are the Key features of Messaging Centre?
    1. My Inbox: It stores all your personal messages at one place
    2. Requests: It stores all the requests sent and received
      Requests in this section are clearly classified as:
      1. Photo Requests, all pending photo requests are displayed here
      2. Astro Requests, all pending astro requests are displayed here
      3. Other Requests, all other pending requests like requests for biodata & mobile no are displayed here
    3. Notifications: This section lists all your activities related notifications
    4. Sent: This section contains all the personal messages sent
    5. Trash: This section contains deleted items
    6. My contacts: This section is categorized into two parts for your better understanding of contacts made and received or pending
      1. My Accepted List: This section contains list of matches whose messages you have replied to.
    7. Compose: You can choose to compose a message. Here you can also attach a file or record a video and attach it.
    8. Drafts: Here you can save the composed message
  • What does "Compose" means?
    By using compose section, you can send mail to any member from your accepted list. Select the member(s) from your accepted list, and then write the subject and the message. Your message will be stored in other member's inbox and he will also get an email on his personal mailbox.
  • What is the advantage of verifying my contact number? How can I do it?
    For verifying contact number, you receive a call on the mobile number provided by you. You only have to press 1 from your mobile when asked to do so, on the call if your number is correct. By doing this, your number is verified. It is important and helpful because you'll never miss out any important information and notification from Community Rishtaa once you verify your contact number.
  • What is Inbox?
    Inbox is just like your any other mail inbox. It simplifies your communication with prospects. It stores your all the matrimonial requests.

G. Send Message

  • From where can I "Express Interest" in a profile?
    Through "Send Message" you can express interest in a profile in your own words.
  • I can't find "Express Interest" button?
    Express Interest button has been replaced by send message button. Through send message, you can initiate conversation with your match in your own words for FREE.
  • Is sending a message free?
    Yes sending messages has been made free on Community Rishtaa.com
  • How will I know that my message has been sent to the member?
    After sending a message you will see confirmation regarding same in pop up.
  • Where can I see my sent messages?
    In "Message Centre" under "Sent" tab you can see all your sent messages.
  • Are there any specific DOs and DON'Ts while sending messages?
    Tips to keep your message simple yet impactful:
    1. Know your match before contacting, go through his/her profile, you might find something interesting to add to your message that leaves an impact.
    2. Don't forget to greet, begin your message with a hello & be polite.
    3. Avoid sending the same message everytime, personalize your message while contacting new match everytime instead of sending a standard message to all.
    4. Sound sincere, and throw an impression that you really mean to find your life partner through the message & mean no non-sense.
    5. Avoid saying too much the first time, since it is a message, so write important stuff only rather than endlessly talking about yourself.
    6. Avoid Chat room slangs, like ur instead of your, maself for myself. Such a language in your message doesn't leave a good impression because even parents read your message. Also, spell check your message & ensure proper English with correct grammar.
    7. Don't send junk messages, and flood people's inbox with unnecessary messages. You might get blocked.
    8. End on a request for response, don't just say your thing & leave a hint for your match that you would like hear back from them whether positive response or not.
  • After sending message, why am I asked to buy Subscription or Crown Message Pack?
    It's not necessary to buy these packages as your message is already sent to the member. But if you want to highlight your messages in member's Inbox you can buy any one of these packages. With this your message will be visible with a crown tag in member's Inbox giving your message better visibility and also allows the member to read your message for free.
  • What if I skipped buying Crown message pack? How can I retry purchasing this pack to tag my message as Crown Message Pack?
    This Crown message pack is not listed on Membership page and can only be purchased as prompted by site while sending message. To tag your message as crown message you can buy any Community Rishtaa subscription packages. This is will mark all your previous messages and new messages as Crown Message.
  • If I've purchased Crown Message pack, can I use it later?
    No, you can't. It is immediately consumed against message you've purchased Crown Pack for and can't be used later for any message.
  • While buying "Crown Pack", there is only option to buy it online. Can't I buy it through other mode of payment?
    No, Crown Pack can't be purchased through any other mode of payment. It can only be purchased online. However, you can buy Community Rishtaa memberships through other modes listed on membership page.
  • On clicking "Send Message" button, it says that "Member's Inbox is filled for the day" and ask me to purchase one of the packages to send message. Why I am not allowed to send a message?
    To prevent excess messages flooding member's Inbox there is daily limit of message inflow. If that limit is exhausted then we do not allow free members to send messages to that member. However if you want to send a message to that member then you can do so by purchasing either of the micro packages shown in the pop up or buy Community Rishtaa Membership.
  • On clicking "Send Message" button, it says that my daily limit of sending message is over. What does this mean?
    To prevent members from sending excessive messages in a day, there is daily limit to number of conversations member can initiate. However there is no restriction on replying to a message from Inbox. You can start new conversation the next day.
  • What is crown message?
    Crown message is a message that is displayed in your Inbox with crown label. This is a message from paid members or from members who have specially purchased Crown Message Pack to get their message highlighted in your Inbox. Unlike other message, benefit of a crown message is that you can read & reply to these messages for free without any restriction.
  • What are the benefits of purchasing Crown Message pack?
    If you want to highlight your message in a member's Inbox, you can buy this pack to do so. With this, your message will be visible with a crown tag in member's Inbox giving your message better visibility and also allows that member to read & reply to your message for free.
  • What is meant by full access to exchange of messages?
    Full access means you and recipients will be able to read & reply to messages for free. A member is able to enjoy this benefit if he has subscribed to any of the membership package, with which he can read & reply to messages without any restriction.
  • What are the benefits of Special Delivery pack?
    To prevent excess messages flooding a member's Inbox there is daily limit of message inflow. If that limit has been exhausted, free members cannot send messages to that member. However, if you want to send a message to that member, you can do so by purchasing Special Delivery Pack. On successful purchase of this pack, your message will be sent to that member.

H. Reading & Replying to Messages

  • From where I can read a message?
    You can read all your messages in Inbox. You can see "Message Centre" on site header, once you take your mouse on that tab, you will see a dropdown with INBOX section listed there. Click on same to go to your Inbox.
  • How can I read a message in my Inbox?
    On the left hand side of your Inbox, you can view members who have sent you messages. Clicking against any of these members will open their message on right hand side.
  • 3. While reading a message, why site is asking me to accept member's interest?
    OR
    While reading a message, why site is asking me to click "Yes" or "No" before showing the message? And what happen if I click any of these.

    Those "Yes/No" options are with a message you've received from member in your Inbox. Before showing member's message, site takes your consent whether you really want to read that message or not. If you click "Yes" button, then site intimates other member on your behalf that you are too interested to take discussion further. If you choose "No", then the site intimates the same to other member on your behalf and once you select "No", then any further message from this member will be moved to your trash section automatically.
  • When I am viewing a profile, there is message on the top with "Yes" or "No" options. What happens if I chose either of the options?
    Those "Yes/No" options are with a message you've received from member whose profile page you are viewing. Before showing member's message, site takes your consent whether you really want to read that message or not. If you click "Yes" button, then site intimates other member on your behalf that you are too interested to take discussion further. If you choose "No", then the site intimates the same to other member on your behalf and once you select "No", then any further message from this member will be moved to your trash section automatically.
  • I have accidently clicked "No" to read the message. From where I can read that message now?
    Clicking on "No" button, your message is automatically moved to your "Trash" section. If you want to retrieve that message, you can go to your "Trash" section. There you can retrieve member's message you accidently denied. Once you select that message, site will ask for a confirmation regarding same. Once you click "Yes" your message will automatically be moved to your Inbox and you can read that member's message from there.
  • When I'm trying to read my messages, why the site is asking me to pay when I'm clicking on "read more"?
    To read a message, you have to be a premium member. However, if you haven't subscribed to any of membership pack yet, you can enjoy "read & reply" through smarter mini payment plans which are of lesser value. If you click "read more" button against any of locked messages, you can buy smarter mini plans from there.
  • Can I read a message for FREE?
    You can read messages for free in two scenarios.
    1. If sender of the message is paid member or has purchased any of the mini payment plans to enable you to read their messages, then your message will be automatically unlocked and you can read your message for free.
    2. During "Free Communication Week" you can read messages for free provided sender has sent you message during that event (Free Communication Week) only.
  • How can I reply to a message?
    When you are reading a message, on top of it there is a section to reply. You can compose your message in that section and click reply button to send reply.
  • Is replying to a message free?
    Yes, you can reply to any message for free.
  • What are benefits of "Select 1 Pack" & "Select 5 Pack"?
    "Select 1Pack" & "Select 5 Pack" are part of our smarter mini payment plans. These packs allow you to unlock & read messages from your matches. Based on the pack you choose, you can unlock 1 message or 5 messages. By unlocking member's messages you get following benefits.
    1. Full access to exchange of messages with that member
    2. Your replies to that member gets higher visibility with Crown tag, always
    3. You get lifetime access to conversation history with that member
    4. The other member will be able to read & reply to your messages for free
  • I have purchased "Select 1 Pack /Select 5 Pack" to read a member's messages. How can I unlock or read that member's messages?
    You can read message by clicking 'Read More" button against member's message which you want to unlock. Once you click this button, site will take your confirmation to unlock given member's message in pop up. Once you give your confirmation i.e. click unlock button, all messages from that member will get unlocked.
  • If I've purchased Crown Message pack, can I use that pack to unlock a member's message?
    No, you can't. Crown message pack is applicable only while sending a message & doesn't help you to unlock or read messages.
  • While buying "Select 1 Pack/Select 5 Pack", there is only option to buy it online. Can't I buy it through other mode of payment?
    No, Select 1 Pack/Select 5 Pack can't be purchased through any other mode of payment. It can only be purchased online. However, you can buy Community Rishtaa memberships through other modes listed on membership page.
  • How can I delete a message?
    In Inbox on left hand side, where you see list of profiles from which you have received messages, against each profile there is delete button (denoted with icon "x"). By clicking on "x" all messages from that member will be deleted and will be moved to trash.
  • From where I can read my deleted messages?
    You can read your deleted messages in "Trash" section. You can go to trash section from Message Centre. Click "Message Centre", at top you will see "Trash" tab. By clicking on same will open your trash section.
  • How can I know whether a message is read or not?
    On left hand side of Inbox, you can see a list of members from whom you have got messages. You can identify whether message from a member is unread or read by seeing the colour of display. Unread messages are bold black where as read messages are light grey. If you wish you can also filter your message by read and unread. At top of Inbox section there is option to "show" message i.e. filter your messages according to their read status.
  • What is pending message?
    To read any message, you have to give acceptance by clicking "Yes" or "No". If you haven't taken any action on a message, then that message becomes your pending message
  • What are filtered messages?
    While joining Community Rishtaa, you fill your desired partner preferences. So, if you've received a message from a member who doesn't match desired partner preference filled by you, that message is automatically marked as filtered. This way, it gets easy for you to prioritize whose message to read first.
  • Against few messages, I see "Communication Week" tag. What is this communication week?
    "Communication Week" is an event by Community Rishtaa.com where matches can SEND, READ & REPLY to messages for FREE. Any message sent during communication week will have "Communication Week" tag along.
  • Its free communication week, why I can't read messages for free?
    You can only read messages for free which were sent during "Communication Week". All those Messages which were sent to you prior to "Communication Week" will remain locked. To read those messages, you have to be a premium member. However, if you haven't subscribed to any of membership pack yet, you can enjoy "read & reply" through smarter mini payment plans which are of lesser value. If you click "read more" button against any of locked messages, you can buy smarter mini plans from there.
  • The message has "Communication Week" tag, but still its locked and I can't view it
    OR
    On clicking "read more" button against messages with "Communication Week" tag, site is asking me to verify my mobile number?

    You can read messages for free only if your mobile number is verified. If it's not verified, then your messages will remain locked. To read these messages, click on "read more" button & mobile verification pop-up opens. Once you click "verify" button in that pop-up, you will receive a call on the mobile number provided by you. After taking that call, you only have to press 1 from your mobile when asked to do so. By doing this, your number gets verified.
  • I have verified my mobile number but still message with "communication week" tag is locked. Why?
    It takes some time for system to update your information. Please wait for 5 minutes and refresh the page once, you will be able to read that message.
  • My Inbox is showing me only 1 message and I can't locate any other messages?
    If you are coming to Inbox directly from your email or after buying "Select 1 Pack" or "Select 5 Pack" you will only see member's message against whom you have clicked "Read message" button in email or purchased "Select 1 Pack" or "Select 5 Pack". However that doesn't mean, all your other messages are deleted. You can view all your messages in Inbox by clicking "View all Messages" button which is just above "Read & Reply" button.
  • I don't want to receive messages from a particular member. How can I stop him from sending me messages?
    There are two ways to stop a member from sending messages to you.
    1. Decline interest: If you select "No" to read member's message then we will intimate that member on your behalf that you've denied his messages. Also, any message in future from this member will be moved to your trash section automatically.
    2. Block member: In Inbox, against all members there is button to block that member. If you click on this button, it will take you to page where you can block a member. Once you block that member, you will never receive any communication from that member. You can also go to this page directly from your Privacy Settings.

  • Why do I see sudden information popping in my screen at bottom?
    This sudden information is called "Live Notifications". It is real time intimation of any new message that you have received from any of your matches.

  • What is "My Activity"?
    "My Activity" is your own personalized section on Community Rishtaa.com. The Dashboard is an all comprehensive briefcase which helps you to manage your profile information as well as to carry out your searches effectively. Based on the feedback that you receive, you can constantly update your profile through this section.
  • What are the features of "My activity"?
    1. Profile completeness: This section shows the completeness level of your profile.
    2. Manage Photos: Here you can manage photos like importing photos from facebook, adding photos to different albums, changing profile photo & photo settings

You can further compare within the selected profiles as well as initiate contact with profile you wish to meet.
  • What all is there in "MyContact" section?
    This section contains your Accepted Members. These are those members who have shown consent to your messages, also you've shown consent to their messages.
  • What does "Relevant updates" section contain?
    This section updates with recent information your matches have added to their matrimony profile on Community Rishtaa. By clicking on "view more profiles", you can even choose to take different actions for any particular listed profile; send message, view full profile or download bio-data.
  • What does "Respond to your alerts" mean?

    To request for photo, click on image section of that profile which are viewing currently and your request for photo is sent with a success message displayed on top.
